The core of the content, of my three Football Photograph Albums, is images from seasons 1954-55 to 1962-63. However, there are also 65 pictures from the period 1963-64 to 1973-74 seasons. Of this total of over 200 photos, 85% show match action. The only posed pictures are of team groups.
The range of material covers schools, youth, amateur, professional club and international football. The 113 different clubs/countries, and several hundred players featured, reflect comprehensively the football scene of that 20-years period from 1954 to 1974. Most of the images are of British football, but also well represented are teams and players from Europe and beyond.
Well over 50 publications have been the sources of the content in my albums' collection of photographs. They are from books I own, some stretching back to when I was only 8 years old. Football Champions books, Charles Buchan Annuals, and F.A. Year Books between them provided over 145 of the images. Professional sports photographers of the highest standard have captured the players, teams incidents, environment and great occasions from those memorable years from the mid-'50s to mid-'70s. I salute their work, in all weathers!
